Platform description

Huawei SGSN USN9810 is a unified service node designed by Huawei. It can be used in the 2.5G General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) system, 3G Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), and evolved packet core (EPC) system.

Vulnerability description

The specialists of the Positive Research center have detected an XML External Entities Injection vulnerability in Huawei SGSN USN9810.

An XML document may contain a Document Type Definition that, among other features, allows the definition of external entities. A malicious user may perform attacks aimed at reading arbitrary files, creating a denial of service condition, scanning the demilitarized zone, etc.
