Cybersecurity specialists will enhance their skills in incident investigation and protection against cyberattacks
The 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will host the international cyberbattle Standoff, organized by Positive Technologies, on June 18–20, 2025. This year, the competition will transform into cyber exercises for hundreds of cybersecurity professionals from XX countries, who can participate both in person and online. The defense teams will investigate incidents to use the gained experience for protecting their companies in real life. The event will take place at the Innovation Territory venue, a project by the Roscongress Foundation that supports the development of advanced technologies, science, and venture investments.
At SPIEF 2025, Positive Technologies will be hosting the Standoff Cyberbattle in a special format. For three days, this legendary event will transform into full-scale exercises for blue teams. This format focuses on honing incident investigation and defense skills, which are vital given the rise in targeted threats. The participants, including SOC and CERT1 teams, will investigate attacks on a cyberrange that simulates IT and OT infrastructures of the logistics and oil and gas industries. Cyberattacks in the virtual State F are highly realistic: real SCADA systems and programmable logic controllers are used in the cyberrange.
"More than 40 teams from 18 countries participated in the cyberbattle Standoff 15, which took place in May 2025 as part of the international cyberfestival Positive Hack Days. Such exercises are a key tool for strengthening the cyber resilience of companies, industries, and entire countries. Threats in the digital space know no boundaries, and we must confront them together. We continue to foster international cooperation, share expertise, and introduce the Russian cybersecurity industry to the world. The cyber exercises at SPIEF will allow participants to upgrade their defense skills and try out the most advanced cybersecurity solutions," noted Alexey Novikov, Managing Director of Positive Technologies.
Blue teams will investigate incidents in one of the two industries featured in the cyberrange. In addition, the participants will be able to attend a briefing with experts working at Positive Technologies, take a closer look at the Russian cybersecurity industry, and try out advanced technological products for result-driven cybersecurity: MaxPatrol SIEM, PT Application Firewall, PT Sandbox, PT Network Attack Discovery (PT NAD), and PT ISIM.
